FEM-VCFEM multiscale simulation of damage evolution and fracture in macro-structure of particulate reinforced composites

报告摘要

Studies on the multiscale for composites are a kind of challenging important multidisciplinary problem. The design and development of high performance materials requires a thorough understanding and careful control of microstructure and its effect on properties. Modeling of the behavior of materials can be used as a versatile, efficient and low cost tool for developing an understanding of material behavior. The FEM-VCFEM-MD multiscalemethod was proposed to simulating of damage evolution and fracture in macro-structure of particulate reinforced composites and explore the coupling mechanism of multiscale.

Professor Ran Guo received his B.S. at aircraft structure design from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing, China in 1991. He received his M.S. and Ph. D degree in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua Universityin 1999 and 2003. He became a postdoctoral research associate at Lille Laboratory in Lille1, France from 2004. His research area has been focusing on the multiscale simulation of damage evolution and fracture in macro-structure of particulate reinforced composites with Finite Element Method and Voronoi Cell FEM.
